McPhillips Legal Research is the experienced legal research and writing service for licensed attorneys nationwide. Mr. McPhillips is a Member of the Virginia State Bar but can do work for a licensed attorney in any state. We want to meet you in person, but, if not feasible, Mr. McPhillips can still work with you remotely via any available electronic communications. We'd like to develop a working relationship that augments both of our businesses.
A Professional Approach
As a licensed attorney, Mr. McPhillips will keep your communications in confidence. We will ask you to describe the background of your case, the jurisdiction, the legal issues involved, the work product requested, and your timetable. We can come to your office for a full file review.
We bill by the hour. All initial inquiries are free. Upon request, we can give you a written fee estimate that is not to be exceeded without your authorization. We do charge a $25 per hour surcharge for any work product that must be finished within two working days.
Our Research Resources
McPhillips Legal Research has access to all pertinent state, regional, and federal materials, including statutes, regulations, legislative history, digests, reporters, specialty reporters, annotations, treatises, encyclopedias, and periodicals via Westlaw®, the Norfolk Law Library, and the Regent University Law Library.
About Ed McPhillips
Ed McPhillips received a B.A. in 1987 from the University of Virginia and is a 1991 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law. He has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 1991.
Mr. McPhillips worked with a national legal research firm in Charlottesville, Virginia from 1991 to 2001. Mr. McPhillips has researched and written over 5,000 projects for attorneys nationwide.
Mr. McPhillips founded McPhillips Legal Research in Norfolk, Virginia in July, 2002. Mr. McPhillips is a member of the Virginia State Bar. McPhillips Legal Research is the trade name of Edward J. McPhillips, P.L.C., a Virginia professional limited liability company.
